Applying to the ELI is easy! First, decide which program you want to apply for.
Our Intensive General English Program offers 15 hours of classes weekly (Monday-Friday), 3 hours daily. It is perfect for students who are already living in Knoxville and need to improve their English, but who do not need an F1 visa. Classes include Speaking/Listening, Writing, and Reading. The classes in this program meet from 9 am to 12 pm.
The Intensive Academic English Program provides 20-24 hours of classes weekly focusing on preparation for university. Classes include Speaking/Listening, Writing, Reading, Grammar, and optional TOEFL preparation, as well as classes in cultural topics such as popular movies, or specialized topics such as idioms and phrasal verbs. Classes meet from 9 am to 2 or 3 pm, depending on the options you choose.
